Greetings! I’m a film critic and editor
Proudly from and based in Chicago.

One of the foremost Black millennial film critics.
— Vanity Fair

My name is Robert Daniels. I’m a writer, editor, and critic. I’m a member of the Chicago Film Critics Association, a Wrigley Field tour guide, and a failed guitarist.

Before becoming a critic, I studied English literature —— earning my bachelor’s and master’s from DePaul University, a background that’s caused me to quote Paradise Lost without context.

I’m the associate Editor at RogerEbert.com, and I’ve frequently written for The New York Times, Reverse Shot, ScreenDaily, and the Criterion Collection.

I’m currently listening to Oasis.
