I have a confession: I’m a festival junkie. I’ve served on juries for SXSW, Chicago International Film Festival, Indie Memphis, Black Harvest, Tallgrass, Milwaukee, and Florida Film Festival. I’ve also introduced screenings at Locarno Film Festival and Telluride (where I’ve served as a ringmaster for the last three years).

I always get immeasurable joy from moderating Q&As. In the past, I’ve spoken with Sean Baker, Boots Riley, RaMell Ross, Raven Jackson, Raoul Peck, Walter Murch, Sam Pollard, Carson Lund, Dawn Porter, and more.

Pontificating is what I do. I’ve spoken to the Locarno Critics Academy and the University of Georgia’s Cannes film students, to students at DePaul, Loyola Chicago, and Columbia University, and appeared on panels hosted by Rotten Tomatoes.

On top of my writing, I’ve appeared on television (CNN and PBS), radio (NPR, WNYC, and WBEZ), and podcasts (Film Comment, The Last Thing I Saw, and the Next Picture Show)
